On Saturday we went to a flea market that was arranged by the inhabitants in one of Oslo’s Colony Gardens. I had so much wanted to visit the colony garden so this was the opportunity! What a lovely Saturday we had too. The colony gardens in Oslo were established to give workers a chance to have a piece of land where they could grow vegetables and have a place to breath fresh air. Now many of the gardens are more than 100 years old and have lovely overgrown gardens and old cottages. This particular garden is in the middle of Oslo – tucked in between apartment buildings. When you are in the garden you do not notice the surroundings buildings at all and you automatically turn down the speed and enjoy what you see! The garden gave me a lovely bohemian feeling which I enjoyed! The flea market was small, but prices were low and in addition you could buy coffee/tea, cakes and food and sit down for a chat! A truly lovely Saturday it was.
