I have worked some more on the little cottage. The iron stove has been cleaned and is now ready from treatment for iron and I painted the floors light grey.
The cottage is going to serve as an extra guest room so we have to furnish the cottage for that purpose. Somehow I have to get in a bed for two. Can you imagine that once upon a time 7 people lived in these two tiny rooms. No wonder that they emigrated to the US! I need to arrange the kitchen in a way that guests at least can make themselves a cup of tea for the night or a coffee in the morning before they come down to the farm for breakfast.
I am going to try using some red textiles etc here. I got a lot of inspiration from France, so no I am going to try out the combination of red/grey/white. I am determined to use what we have and I think I will find plenty of old furniture and things around the farm. I am trying my best to avoid buying new stuff.
When I was busy in the cottage my husband tried out his lumber jack skills. The forest is growing so fast that it is hard to keep it away from the fields. We will have some lovely log fires to warm us next winter. The logs now have to dry and he will cut them into suitable lengths.
Have a wonderful week!
Ha en fin uke alle sammen.
