Today I am showing you my new old kitchen table. I could not believe my eyes when I spotted this at the flea market on Saturday – and still unsold. Luckily, I have a station wagon so I have not problems transporting large items. Tonight I have scrubbed it and I will wait until it dries and then I will wax the table top before I take it into my kitchen. I buy these wonderful products in France – there are so much stuff for fixing up old furniture there. Products like that are difficult find here. I liked very much that it has 3 drawers. The man who sold it said it had originally been and old desk at a fashionable glassware store in Oslo – Christiania was the name of the town then. It is made by a carpentry work shop that made many things for this store. It is always nice to know a little about the background of an item.
I have started putting some plants here and there. The large iron pot I have outside got a new box bush. Some violets and other things that can live through a cold night or two is all have had the courage to plant. We can still have temperatures below zero here so it is too early for many plants.
